Show Crush: Guillermo Sexo / Aloud / Sarah RabDAU and Self Employed Assassins at Great Scott tonight

Annie Rock (aka Annie March aka manager to the stars) is having a birthday party complete with games, dancing, favors, prizes and, well, some of the best live music you’re going to find anywhere. There’ll be burlesque entertainment by Allix Mortis and Brandy Wine of Rogue Burlesque and after the live bands are done, an all night dance party for the ages. She’ll be taking over Great Scott for the festivities, so stop by and wish her a happy birthday.

Guillermo Sexo will close the party out, they pack bristling shoegaze together with psychedelia and punk to summon a snarling rock monster. Wandering troubadours Aloud will finally step onto a Boston stage after months away on tour. They’ve been home for a while, but although we haven’t seen them play a full-on rock show lately, it’s not like they’ve been sitting on the couch watching TV; they’ve kept busy with stripped down performances and singer-songwriter type shows. It’ll be good to have them back. Getting things started will be the eternally captivating Sarah RabDAU and Self Employed Assassins. Sometimes seething, sometimes sweet, Sarah draws you into her world note by note, and by the time her performance is done you’ve been convinced that you want to stay in that world for as long as you can.
