Do you like your rock raw and honest? How about fuzzy reverb guitars, punchy drums, and shouty vocals? Of course you do; why wouldn’t you? Our point is this: get yourself to Precinct tonight, they’ve got a bill featuring some of the city’s most exciting young bands ready to take their places in the annals of Boston rock history.
Fat Creeps made some noise recently with their video for Nancy Drew, and their style of disaffected boredom makes us crave their attention. Are they too cool for school, or are they just unimpressed and sick of it all? We’re not sure; we think we’d better keep listening to figure it out. They’ll be joined by tight bros for life Golden Retriever, who they recorded their split demo with a while back. GR’s psychedelic garage anthems will get you sorted in short order. Then there’s Thick Shakes, beloved retro masters who will shake you to your very core with their distorted journey into Link Wray territory. Getting things started will be The BFs, short for Boyfriends, and their homage to the punk and powerpop of times gone by.
